One of the perks of being an event Photographer, besides meeting new people, is learning about behind the scenes projects and happenings in our community. I had the opportunity of photographing The Summit Federal Credit Union’s Taft Road Branch Grand Opening; They not only celebrated having a new and improved branch, but they also celebrated the community and two great organizations. The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation got presented with a check for $6’700 and Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY got presented with a check for $10’800.
“The money collected was a joint effort between top Taste of Syracuse sponsors during the “I Heart Orange” and “Pink Power” themed promotions. Donations were collected from The Summit Federal Credit Union, Tops Friendly Markets and Kinney Drugs.”
Adrian Autry, Assistant Coach for Syracuse University, was present making fans pretty happy with pictures and autographs. The Summit also raffled a 5 day cruise to the Western Caribbean!
Others present were Ed Levine, President & CEO of Galaxy Communications (By the way, did you know that, Mr. Levine, along with two classmates started Syracuse’s first live FM radio station in 1978? – What a legacy!) Carrie Wojtaszek General Manager, of Galaxy Events, was also present and very excitedly shared that The Taste of Syracuse had a record breaking crowd of over 225,000 people, this year (2017).
The celebration ended with the ribbon cutting and lunch for its guests and employees.
My congratulations to The Summit, the cruise winner, and both charities! Cheers!
